First Step to Success: Learn to Step into Your Unconscious MindLet’s take, for example, Thomas Edison. Edison is known to have unknowingly discovered a secret as to how he can tap the unconscious level of his mind. This was what he used to do: anytime he had a question, or a challenge, or he did not not know the answers to whatever it is he needed the answers to, he would sit orr lie down on a chair, sitting very relaxed, very comfortably. As he sat relaxed, he held two ball bearings in his hands and he would pose a question to his unconscious mind. Of course, he did not know he was doing that; he did not know he was stepping into the unconscious mind. He did it unknowingly and it did not really matter if he was doing it consciously or not. It still worked! He posed a question to his unconscious mind, and he sat there, going into a deep state of relaxation. As he began to relax, he began to drift off slowly into a light state. As he was drifting off into this light state, his hands would become relaxed, and suddenly the ball bearings would fall to the floor, made a great noise, and he’d be awaken. And he found that he had found the answer to the question that he was looking for simply because as he was relaxed, he slowly slipped into the unconscious recesses of his mind.
When he went into the unconscious part of his mind, it gave the answer to the question he posed because the unconscious knows everything. The unconscious has all the answers. You just need to know how to ask the questions from the unconscious. Each time Edison had a question, he posed it to the unconscious mind. As he went into a deep state of relaxation, the ball bearings fell from his hands, awakened him just at a point when he was slipping into the unconscious. When he was awakened and came back to the conscious mind, he could write down the answers. Edison did not know he was slipping into the unconscious. He did not know that that process tapped into the unconscious part of his mind but today we have more sophisticated methods that we can use to access the unconscious mind. All great thinkers, philosophers, artists, singers, dancers, creative people -- anybody who has anything to do with anything creative -- will slip into the unconscious mind. There are ways as to how they use the unconscious mind. They may not even know they are doing that but they are for sure slipping into the unconscious mind so that they can activate it, have access to it, and then be able to have access to all the limitless information, knowledge, potential that is readily available to anyone who can access the unconscious.
