The Secret of Success: Obey the Law of Non ResistanceMany people think that it’s all about positive thinking. Satirical movies, such as "Yes Man" have poked fun at the notion. It’s fine for you to laugh at the satire. Letting go of conceit and realizing that you or the things that you believe in are not engraved in stone are a big part of living life to its potential. There is always something to learn from another person’s perspective. Being argumentative is not the only way to win a fight. That’s one of the tenets of the Law of Non Resistance. If you have ever practiced a martial art, you may have learned a little about Aikido and Judo, regardless of which sport you were practicing. Although the techniques are similar and both fall under the umbrella of martial arts, the psychology of the two techniques are quite different. I’ll get back to that in a moment, but first let me say this.
No single one of the 11 Forgotten Laws is more important than any other. Many people spend too much time focusing on the Law of Attraction, when the other 10 are just as important. So, although this article focuses on the Law of Non Resistance, you shouldn’t think that this is all that you need to learn. Basically, in Judo, your objective is to subdue your opponent in any way possible. In Aikido, on the other hand, you are to be as concerned about the well-being of your opponent as you are of your own. You are still able to protect yourself. If your opponent is stronger, all the better. You will use his force against him. Aikido requires you to use less of your own energy than what you would use in Judo. So, instead of being exhausted at the end of a session, you may feel energized. Of course, if you and your partner are both practicing the art correctly, neither of you would attack. So, for practice purposes, one of you must be the aggressor. If you were interested in the 11 Forgotten Laws because you have heard how they can make you successful in all of your endeavors, you might not have expected a martial arts discussion. But, the tenets of the Law of Attraction and the rest of the 11 Forgotten Laws can be seen everywhere. The Law of Attraction exists in the animal kingdom, where birds of a feather flock together and wolves of an unusual color are shunned by pack mates. The Law of Non Resistance exists in politics and diplomacy. It is possible to win a debate without ever exchanging an angry word. Learning the 11 Forgotten Laws can help you in many ways. With the law of attraction, you can expect more abundance in your life. With the Law of Non Resistance, you can expect less stress and a reduced risk of burn out. With these and the other nine, you can expect a peaceful and plentiful life.
